The Thames Waterway Plan aims to improve the way the River Thames is developed and cared for in the future.
It has been developed by the Environment Agency on behalf of the River Thames Alliance.
The plan was launched for public consultation between April and August 2005. It received a strong positive response from a wide range of organisations including local authorities, public societies and associations. The feedback will be crucial for refining the plan for the official launch in January 2006.

Whilst the public consultation on the plan is now closed we appreciate that you may wish to contact us or ask a question before the plan is launched in January 2006. The River Thames Alliance is a partnership of public and private sector organisations.
We currently have 65 members, all of whom have a stake in managing the future of the non-tidal Thames. This draft plan is the result of various consultations within the membership. Once we have agreed the strategic elements of the plan, and identified actions to achieve them, we will work together to deliver the actions, using the aspirations gathered as prompts for ideas.
