The River Thames Alliance is a partnership of public and private sector organisations, set up in June 2003 to help manage the future of the non-tidal Thames. There are now 78 member organisations of the Alliance which is chaired by David Suchet.
The main aim of the Alliance is to implement the Thames Waterway Plan and kickstart co-ordinated planning to rejuvenate the River Thames.
The Draft Thames Waterway Plan Progress Report 2007 was presented to the Alliance AGM held on 27th June 2007. Thanks to all those members who gave feedback on what has been happening in your area of work to help implement the plan. The information was greatly appreciated and showed just how much we had achieved in the first year.

Launching in January 2007, The River Thames Alliance Marketing Partnership (RTAMP) will bring together riverside businesses from the Cotswolds to the outskirts of London. By joining forces to promote days out, short breaks and holidays on or near the River Thames, we hope to further rejuvenate the river and establish it as a leading visitor destination.
The Environment Agency has developed the Thames Waterway Plan on behalf of the River Thames Alliance and in consultation with them. The plan provides the strategic framework for the future of the River Thames, including policies and actions designed to achieve our vision.
The Thames Waterway Plan was launched at the London Boat Show on January 6th 2006. The published plan is available online or by contacting us for a printed copy.
